Background

Asifa Aamir is an Associate Teaching Professor with the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at Ontario Tech University. Her background is in business studies and information systems engineering. At University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, she investigated the potential of instructional technologies in helping narrow the gender gap in the STEM fields, the potential of gamification in education, and the significance of user-centered interface in computer-assisted instruction and learning. At Ontario Tech University, her research focused on exploring the strategic use of information systems and the impact of new technologies in both, business environments and the academic world.  She’s been active in assessing the potential of hybrid (blended) model in helping the current and future needs of the students, instructors and the university.

She identifies herself as a lifelong learner with a continued passion to explore the scholarship of teaching and learning, and to understand and explore the assistive and disruptive bearing of technologies for businesses and academia.
